Is it necessary to remove the original windblocker in a 2008 MX5 in order to install the GoMiata Mariah Windblocker?

I would like to purchase a different size windblocker and I have been considering a GoMiata Mariah. I have not been able to get any information regarding the installation of the Mariah Windblocker does anyone have any experience with the Mariah?
I realize that the Mariah is a strap in type windblocker but not sure how it fits.
