2008 Ford Edge Limited, stalls

Asked by Butterfli5 Oct 04, 2019 at 11:09 AM about the 2008 Ford Edge Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 Ford edge Limited. For the past
several years, when I go to take off from a stop
sign, my car will stall halfway through the turn as
I’m pulling out into the intersection. It does not
matter what I do, it will not go until it’s good and
ready. This is so dangerous because somebody
eventually is going to come down that road and
they’re going to nail me because you cannot see
vehicles coming from either direction because of
the parked cars. It seems to happen most of the
time at the same stop sign. It does happen at other
locations, but typically in that spot ( which is right
at the end of my road). It’s usually in the cooler and
cold weather when this happens. I have had it
back to the dealership multiple times and because
it will not do it to them and because it’s just a
random issue, they keep saying that there’s
nothing wrong with it.  I took it to Ben Davis
yesterday and talked to them about it… Again!
They told me that when the car stalls like this, if
the RPM revs up all the way (up as far as it can
go), then it is the tranny, but if it does not rev all
the way up, then that means it is electrical. They
said it could be this, that and everything else… I’m
on disability, I do not have the income to let them
change this, that and everything else and hope it
fixes the issue. I need to KNOW what the problem
is, not play the guessing Game. I have a friend who
is going to change the speed sensor on it and see
if that fixes the problem, but I have no clue. All I
know is Ford needs to get it together and make a
recall for this problem BEFORE somebody gets
hurt... or worse, killed.

You've been doing this for years and you haven't killed anyone yet? Well, miracles do happen I guess.
