why do auto manufactures get away with marketing insufficienty tested product?

Asked by Jun 29, 2017 at 11:54 PM about the 2008 Chrysler Pacifica Touring

Question type: General

...bought used from dealer and saw Carfax....since purchase both sides of windshield gaskets flew off on expressway.... clips that held on gaskets were rusted so attempts to replace will break windshield.  Sunroof drains undersized so they clog... dealers attempts to fix turns drips into waterfalls on drivers and passenger sides. Motor mounts broke,. A/C fans are loud as is general road noise...... but I should have noticed these last 2 before purchase.

Rust severely limits the useful life of cars on the east coast. Just a fact of life.

Motor mounts do break, especially on front wheel drive vehicles, excessive fan noise can be caused by a number of things, damaged blades, restricted air flow, worn motor bearings, etc. was the current vehicle checked out by a shop before you purchased it? Rust is really bad once it gets started usually it has to be cut out and new panel welded in.

I am looking for a older (60-80ish) truck to restore for daily road use. These newer American made auto's last 10-15 years may as-well say made Taiwan/China most are pure junk, there is a few that are fine but even then the plastic gaskets do not last very long.

A/C fan can also be a sign that your water pump is starting to fail... this is 95% true for all older 3 Series BMWs (I've owned 2 and they've failed like clockwork)
