Why would battery light stay on after changing alternator and battery. Tested both and told everything is fine. Went to two different auto stores. They both said same thing that charging system is working fine but not so sure with light staying on. Why else or what could be causing this

Check the tension on the belt that turns the alternator. The light is telling you your system is discharging. It should be charging. If the belt is not tight and it is slipping, you will get this condition.
