If you just recently did an oil change or going to do an oil change try adding some Lucas Engine Oil Stabilizer to oil. May or may not help but it is worth a try. It worked for me when my vehicle had a tapping noise.

Did this start after replacing your fan clutch?

I'm running e-fans & I've tried a stabilizer ...doesn't sound like a rod knock ...I had the engine rebuilt a couple years ago...It would start ticking after a hour or less of driving...sometimes I wouldn't hear anything...now as soon as it reaches temp...I hear a loud tick...no check engine lights...could it be a lifter?

E-fans, nice! I'm still running the stock junk fan clutch. Our stock fan clutches have a common ticking problem is why I asked. It could be a lifter yes. With your engine up to temp, I'd remove your serpentine belt and run the engine for a few seconds and see if the "tick" is still present. Would rule several things out doing this and narrow your search.
