buttons on sliding doors

Asked by GuruH1WYP Jul 23, 2019 at 03:36 PM about the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2008 Town & Country has interior buttons above the rear view mirror that
open & shut the side sliding doors.  It also will open with my key fob.  However,
there are small buttons on the side of the sliding doors that will NOT work.  Any
ideas why only these will not work?

I just ran into this issue with my 2015 T&C. The inside buttons next to the sliding doors only work if the car is unlocked. If the car is locked, those inside buttons will not open the door. Additionally, there is a lockout button above the rear view mirror that will disable the sliding door buttons at all times. I hope this helps.
