Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The radio in my van is not working. There is power
to it but no sound. The sound doesn't work for
radio, auxiliary or CD player. Any advise would be

No, originally it would work intermittently. The sound would go on and off and have really loud buzzing sounds and now it doesn't work at all

If this a bought used car, It may have had a Stereo System at one time and if a speaker box complete with all speakers needed then the last owner may have had them (OEM speakers) disconnected, as those would not be able to handle a amp pushing on them and would not sound good and/or blow those Speakers. I have done this myself in 4 different cars as part of the install at custom shops when installed. So this is common practice and when I sold those cars I just removed my MTX box, amp in all 4 and all but one I removed my Stereo too. I told the new owners of 3 of those but one car I sold at a auction and did not tell that new owner. In most cases speaker wires or harness is/are disconnected at the back of the Stereo.
