2008 Subaru outback only cranks after using spare key

Just purchased a 2008 outback for my Daughter, drove 4 hrs home and
parked it. Tried to start it the following day with one of the extra key the seller
gave me and nothing but crank. Checked spark/ OK, fuel pump/ No Go,
Pulled it to test it/ OK, fed it 12v at plug, started right up, followed power all
the way up to the relay/ good. Know we now have a unhappy security
system but have never gotten a horn. Any thoughts on how to unlock the
security  with the key that originally worked? Thanks

Mark, Thanks for the feed back. As mentioned before, only thing that had changed were the keys we drove it home with and come to think of it...washing the engine bay. Pulled and blew out all the connectors but did not change anything so did not mention it earlier. Would the security or immobilizer be an issue if the light is not present on the dash? Thanks- Pete
