2008 MKZ AWD isn't working.

Just bought a 2008 Lincoln MKZ AWD and during a recent snow storm I
noticed my rear wheels where not powered. My AWD system seem to not be
working.

Hello! I would recommend that you visit the local Ford/Mercury Dealer, and or a reputable mechanic. It is most likely a sensor failure that can be easily diagnosed (in seconds) by the dealer or mechanic by using and OBDII-Code Reader. You could then order the part yourself (at a significant discount) and even perhaps replace it yourself! Best of luck!
It is best to take it to a Lincoln dealer if one is nearby. Lincoln dealers have more experience with their cars and have access to current TSBs and special tooling. Much of your Lincoln is the same as a Ford, but there are differences.

Trying not to take it to the dealer. Really don't have the cash to spend on dealer diagnosis. Also there is no ABS light and the ABS system to be working fine. When I was in my driveway the vehicle had a hard time moving on flat ground and I have to really get into the throttle to move.
try giving us some kind of answer besides the { I don't know } " take it too the dealer default reply.
