Check with the issuing title bureau, they may have an explanation on their web site.

Never heard of a theft title, usually if a car is recovered it will have a salvage, rebuilt, or sheriffs title, all that will be noted in the remarks box on the title. My advise is to run away from this one.

As Ken suggested, check with your local motor vehicle agency. Different States use different terminology for the same thing. If the vehicle was a recovered theft and the insurance company paid out on it or totaled it you probably don't want it. There's probably extensive electrical damage. HTH. -Jim
