Pontiac 08

Asked by Apr 04, 2017 at 02:31 PM about the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 08 Pontiac Grand Prix it starts perfectly
fine most days. But sometimes it won't start unless
I hold the gas pedal to the floor. Anyone knows
what this means? I havent had any problems with
my car and the only light on In the dash is the
engine light which has been on since I bought it. I'm
lost on what it could be.

With the check engine on there is code locked in the computer, you should have the code pulled. I would check your fuel pump pressure and your fuel pump regulator

Holding the accelerator to the floor while cranking puts the computer in clear flood mode. Sounds like leaking fuel injector(s). Visit your local auto parts store and let them scan the computer to get the trouble codes. Most stores will do it for free. HTH. - Jim
