How do I drain some power steering fluid from my car

Asked by helpwcar64 Apr 24, 2016 at 10:59 AM about the 2008 Chevrolet Impala 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car is making a buzzing or humming noise, especially when accelerating but also some while idling. Husband said there is too much power steering fluid in it, we don't know how this happened unless when we had a wheel bearing put on they did that. How can we drain some fluid out? or maybe something else is wrong?

Does the buzzing or humming noise get worse when the steering wheel is turned ? To remove some fluid you can use a turkey baster and suck some fluid out or use a sprayer head from a old spray bottle put straw end into power steering pump reservoir then spray into a empty jar, cup, bottle etc.
