Car stereo has power but not sound

Asked by Hnedwin Nov 29, 2016 at 05:56 PM about the 2000 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

I'd like some help with my car stereo
i used to have this stereo in another car but I crashed and saved the stereo (at least) well, I connected this stereo in my 2000 Dodge Dakota  and it does have power, radio stations AM/FM work just fine. the problem now is there is no SOUND when I play a CD (it does read the CD) or when i plug my iPhone through the AUX cord, like I said i used to have this radio in a different car so everything used to work fine.
I check the fuse (the one on the driver side and the one on the back of the radio) the fuses are good.
Can somebody help me fix this issue?

Your car is equipped with a factory amplifier and needs to be turned on when the radio come on. Check to verify, I believe it's located by passenger's side kick panel. The best way to do it is to buy a wire connector adapter for the year and model and type of stereo being used so you don't cut stock wires
