Thanks Jim. I'll get busy looking, now that I have some direction.

I found a small, black plastic vacuum line that was not connected, but definitely had vacuum. Hanging loose on a tee from a larger vacuum line, next to the engine side of the firewall. Need to find it on the inside. Is this were I have to remove the glove box and keep digging?

The tee in the above picture actually goes thru the firewall directly below the 2 heater hoses. Fortunately, it broke(or was chewed thru) and left about a 1" stub that I was able to slice the 2 pieces back together using a small rubber vacuum line. Works great. I'll do a better fix later, if it breaks again. Jim, I wish you would let me pay you. Thank you so very much. Ray

I’ve got the same issue on the same line. Unfortunately I can’t find anything on the engine side....I guess the dash will be coming out when I get the motivation to do it. Wondering if pulling the vacuum line through the firewall will let me find something easier than tearing into it.

2000 Dakota slow to move to defrost selection in heater or air conditioner position to floor position no problem

I pulled the heater core a couple years ago for a repair. That’s when the a/c started to not want to blow thru the dash vents. I didn’t “see” any breaks or cracks on the engine side so I’m thinking the vacuum leak is on the dash side. I tried to drop the dash alone but needed a second set of hands. It’s a second vehicle and sits during the week in the hot AZ summer.

Seeing as mine has a electronic selection board would mine be full electronic or would it still work under a vacuum

It seems there isn't a corrective measure for this air issue. Short of a total replacement, I'm not going to piecemeal it together. I like the truck-does what I need it for- but not going to waste anymore time and money on it. I didn't drive the thing for a year (did start it every week) and now the A/C isn't working. Who wants it?
