Volume control doesn't work in Acura TL Type S 2002
There's a service write up to fix the unresponsive volume control buttons on the steering wheel by way of making correction to the metal contact parts of the steering column, given that the intended design of the steering wheel's metal contact points resulted in non'responsive radio volume/channel on the steering wheel. The fix is drastic, and could be handled by dealers on a courtesy basis. However, the fix has also been noted by some as a hit & miss in its efficacy. The volume/channel works when the steering wheel is turned slighly by a couple of degrees or more.. but at zero degrees, often, the volume doesn't work. That said, the volume buttons work right when I am in the middle of a turn.. which isn't exactly when we ought to be changing channels or adjusting volume. What are your thoughts and/or fixes on this issue?
