bought 2005 Merc mariner - 1 key & fob -bought 2nd chip key & fob but tech couldn't get body module to accept it

chip key & fob #1 works but 2nd chip key and fob would not be accepted by the body module. Can the body module be reprogrammed or corrected?  Does ford - Merc make replacement body modules or will I have to find a used or refurbished one.
