Codes for safe mode on tranny

We own a BMW X5, 2001 model.  We just got it and there are weird safe code for the transmission keeps popping up.  It won't shift properly from 1st to 2nd gear.  Anyone know how to clear codes??

Yes to clear the codes you can go to any Auto shop and have hem erase them, although that won't fix your problem. I had a 2005 745li that I started having transmission problems (fail safe mode) with and it turned out to be the the transmission coolant system wasn't working properly.

The car is a 01 x5 which is in tranny safe mode and it drives only in 4 and 5 gears

Bmw should have a recall because in the x5 that's becoming a major problem many many people complain about that contact a BMW dealer and make a complaint maybe they will take care of you on some hush shit lol
