BMW X5 awd

Asked by Nico Jan 13, 2019 at 02:17 AM about the 2003 BMW X5 4.4i AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my awd doesn’t work. My year doesn’t
have a transfer case actuator. Any ideas?

1 Answer

does it move at all? The front drive shaft splines wear and sheer off and the car will not move at all. The transfer case does not have the actuator like the new models. There are a set of gears with a heavy chain inside. Both instances the car should not move if they have failed.
