2004 BMW X5 transmission questions

2004 BMW X5 4.4 automatic with
steptronic transmission.  Will not
change out of first and also the
steptronic isn't working. What
would be the cause?

ask the dealer if your vehicle has an transmission control module that may your issue. if it will not allow it to go over first gear but will still drive forward and reverse but wont go above 20 mph most likely issue just some friendly advise
