Asked by Michael Dec 07, 2014 at 03:42 PM about the 2002 Ford Windstar LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Mechanic removed spark plugs and found water in pistons. Repaired air intake. Learned that water was coming in through air intake filter system. Once again starter broke. Engine won't turn over. Starter had broken teeth.

I don't know about water in pistons and things... sounds suspect. If the starter has borken teeth, the bendix can't be engaging the flex plate or flywheel (depending on auto or manual trans) properly. Maybe wrong starter? Maybe it's time to look for another mechanic?
