Why is my car not shifting out of 1st gear?

Asked by vdrego Feb 18, 2016 at 02:56 PM about the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car is a mitsubishi lancer GTS 2008 that was purchased brand new and
very well maintained.  Never had any problems and now my car will not shift
out of 1st gear and the check engine light is on.  I cannot go above 20mph.

Since check engine light is on take vehicle to parts store like auto zone and have them scan for codes for free and this will them you why your vehicle is running like it is.
