Hit by lightning: cost to replace all electrical?

Hit by lightning - hit edge if hood on passenger side, went diagonally toward
arial & snapped it off.  car engine stopped but all that was on - heater fan
lights etc stayed on \.  Could not turn anything off - turning key gave clicks
but would not engage - waited for tow truck - took long time & battery
eventually died.  New battery very, very slowly recharging?
No other damage but front seat side air bags blew but not the dash air bags?
Car is in mint shape 7 has the "air ride" system as an extra on it - is it even
possible to revive this beauty?  Thanks Jenn

I would think your car insurance would cover all of that. Maybe even declaring it "totaled" would be the best deal for you. Give your agent a call.

I have in the past seen a car hit by lightning at the radio antenna causing damage only to the antenna. It was missing about 8 inches of the top of the antenna and believe it or not the radio still worked. Lightning can do strange unexpected things to a vehicle. It sounds like that yours may be a total loss in that some of the relays may have the contacts fused together by the lightning strike. There is certainly the possibility that many other parts have been damaged. A professional needs to evaluate this vehicle.
