2003 subaru outback speakers/dash lights out

Asked by Savvana Feb 15, 2020 at 10:55 AM about the 2003 Subaru Outback Base Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 20023 subaru Outback I just bought and
after purchasing I realized every speaker except for
the rear drivers side passenger doesn't work. Does
anyone know what might be causing this issue?
Like I mentioned earlier, I just bought the car so I
don't know it's history except for what it says on
the car fax. I'm also having an issue with my dash
lights being out, everyone EXCEPT for the RPM
meter. I'm trying to find a way to tackle these
repairs myself so it won't cost a fortune.  Any
insight on these issues will be super helpful!

If the all the others work, u might have a bad or disconnected speaker. It's not the settings since all others work. Remove side panel and check it out

Speakers go bad. Yours is 17 years old. Your stereo will sound a lot better if you replace all those old, cracked speakers.

The dash lights can be replaced if you are flexible. You have to reach up behind the dash and find the bulbs to replace them. Not fun but it can be done.
