I did what Guru8547X said on my 2001 Toyota 4Runner SR5. The Check Engine Light, VSC and trac lights went out until I drove on a dirt road 30 minutes later. What can be done if the lights keep coming back on?

I did what Guru8547X said on my 2006 Toyota 4Runner SR5. The Check Engine Light, VSC, and trac lights were on after a short trip to the grocery store. Perhaps the application of disinfectant to the bunch of keys after starting the car created the problem. I re-tightened the Gas Cap, disconnected the battery cable, and reconnected it. All lights went off even including a tire pressure light that had been on for 14 years, since purchase. Splendid. Thanks to all for their experience.

I did what Guru8547TX said on my 2006 Toyota 4Runner, and it worked getting the VSC and check engine light off too. It didn't work for the tire pressure sensor light tho. But that light has been on for a few years too. And it came right back on about 3 days after it was replaced, so I am pretty sure it is just the sensor. I can live with that light being on! LOL
