My RSX type S starts making a horrible loud thumping noise after about 15 minutes of going 60 miles an hour or more. If I stop driving and let it cool down it seems to stop?

My RSX type S  starts making a horrible loud thumping noise after about 15 minutes of
going 60 miles an hour or more.  If  I stop driving and let it cool down it seems to stop?

I don't care what car you drive , that is irrelevant ."HORRIBLE LOUD THUMPING" - that is relevant. Just because you can make it stop by letting it cool down whereupon it will happen again lets me know that the only advice to give is : STOP driving the car until you have it looked at..
