Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2003 Chevy Trailblazer 4x4 Vortec 6. has AC when you start but after you stop somewhere or run it for a while then start it back up no AC. Checked it with the Gauge that comes with the AC canister and it jumped right up to 45-48 PSI but that was with the vehicle not running.

First I would try cleaning you A.C condenser coil may be partially clogged with bugs and dirt that may be the reason why it cools when you are driving because more air is being forced through the coils fins. If that does not work the orfice tube filter may be clogged. This filter is in the high side line of the A.C system. You need a special tool to disconnect and separate line. Filter is inside of the line you will need a pair of needle nose pliers to remove filter.
