Insurance said it was normal wear and tear and doesn't want to cover it. I'm going to fight them on it.

Clearly more information is needed. If the top was worn out due to age and weather exposure the window could have come loose. Your top is 12 years old.

It is 12 years old but if it was wear and tear it would have had symptoms of failure before it just gave out. The top was in great condition for being 12 years old. The window suddenly stopped holding back water. That's not normal.
