Should I change the fuel filter first???

I just purchased a 2005 Tahoe with only 30K miles on it.  It hasn't been driven more than 3000 miles since December of 2011 and is in cherry condition.  Pulled CarFax and everything...one owner, purchased new, solid maintenance schedule.  So...has performed perfectly for the week since I bought it, but last night, is semi-stalled a bit after sitting in idle at a drive-through window for about 10 minutes.  Smelled a bit like it had possibly flooded.  My questions is this...if this vehicle has sat basically unsused for so long, I have no idea if the gasoline in this thing is good or not, so should I change the fuel filter before I start to worry about other things?  What else could I be looking at here?

Yes get you a new fuel filter and drain all of the old gas and replace with 93 octane gas with no ethanol

Well, to save some money, this is what I had to do with my Olds, did the same thing. Drain all the old fuel, and replace the fuel filter. You don't HAVE to run 93 octane but you can. Your decision. The only difference s that the octane runs a little cleaner and you don't get a carbon build up on your valves/pistons.
