Shift, gear, or possibly transmission

I bought a used vehicle so I decided to change all
of the fluids in it and make sure everything was in
good working order. I recently had to put in a fuel
pump and saving a dollar is a major thing in our
house out of 5 so i bought the fuel pump online for
80 bucks and it worked fine but then it gave out
and after that I decided to take it to the shop and a
local shop put it in and it was $525. So that is the
main reason why I tried to do all maintenance
myself if I can. So on with my question, I recently
changed the transmission fluid and instead of
dropping the exhaust lines like I asked him to do,
my fiance, decided to bend the horseshoe-shaped
piece that holds the shifter cable out of the way so
that you can get the transmission fluid pan off
easier. Once getting it all put back together and
putting the fluid in it was time to start it and it
would not start. Then when he started switching
the gears he switch it up into park and then it did
start. Once I started to drive the RPM's would
barely go up and it would barely go forward.
Reverse was fine. Low 1 2 and 3 work and when I
start out and use them to shift up overdrive will
finally work but I cannot get in my vehicle and put it
in regular overdrive and go forward it will not. Also
since i s stil drivable, this problem gets better,
almost to normal the longer distance i drive it.
Could it be the park neutral switch or the 1-2
solenoid, or the tcc solenoid, or does the shift lever
need adjusting or just shorten the shift cable. I
would appreciate any help with this screw up.
