You may check with some lock smiths, some, not many, are capable of doing this.

If your not getting lights or instruments on when turning the ignition on I would say the switch could be the wrong one or no good, if the key starts the car and it cuts out after a second or two try www.autolocksmiths.net And look for a member to code the key in

The dealership supposedly replaced the switch and it ran better for about 2 weeks and then started with the same problems as before. Which was taking a few seconds after turning the key to start,. Then I had it jumped and it would start but not start the next time. Then the battery discharged so I had it charged at Auto zone put it back in and nothing.

So are the dashboard lights coming on when you turn the key, not to crank just to bring the ancillary light on and illuminate the dashboard lights?

Check the terminals on the battery, if they are loose it will cause issues, also check the battery is charged (12v) if it's dead you've got a power drain somewhere

So the problem has ben with the battery not having a charge to turn the engine over? Should have the battery checked to see if it is even any good, may have a short in it. Once you get the vehicle started you should take it somewhere to have the charging system checked, might have a bad alternator. And to check for a parasitic drain on the battery, see how to check for that on this sight... www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRso1A0VScw
