my reverse went in my 2 door 2002 ford explorer, but i still drive it can I get just the reverse fixed in the transmission instead of a whole new rebuilt transmission?

the code for my 2 door ford explorer problems are P1780 and P1703. I still drive it today...

Your transmission should be fine and I believe you have more of an electrical issue. P1703 points to brake pedal position switch, and p1780 points to transmission control switch. These trucks are known to have issues in the wiring so I would get it properly diagnosed before you shell out the money for a transmission which probably will not solve your issues.

I am having the same issue in my 2002 explorer XLT. Did you figure out the problem? Was it electrical or the transmission?
