Can I drive my 2003 Ford Expedition without front drive shaft?

Drive shaft U joint worn, need to replace. Can I drive my vehicle safely, without further damage?

Keep it in RWD and you should not have any problems.

It acts like traction action, and kicks in to 4WD at will. You can feel it kick on and off.
