Has anyone gone up a couple of sizes on their 2003 Explorer, any problems with the 18" rim and tire, and does it have a tire pressure sensor?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm going to replace the 4 tires but I found a good deal on a set of 18" rims and tires and I
just wanted to know if they are any issues or should i just keep the factory ones? Thanks

An explorer is top heavy to begin with, it is not the best at cornering. You'll be increasing the center of gravity on the vehicle. If the rim is paired with a reduction in sidewall height of the tire as not to raise the height to much you may be ok, but regardless the center of gravity will be increased, which is not good on an explorer in the first place.
