Since my 2003 Ford Explorer returned from the shop it is driving away without my foot on the gas.How can I turn down the idle ? It is 900 rpm in park and over 1100 in drive with my foot OFF gas pedal

I took to another shop to have adjusted and they charged me $ 400 to replace 2 parts
that they said would fix this drive away issue, but it is WORSE now!  Yesterday in
drive with my foot OFF of the gas the car was going 40 miles an hour!  I am afraid I
will be at a red light, my foot will slip off the the brake and i will run into somebody.

The second mechanic tried to convince me this was "normal" but the car did not drive
away without my foot on the gas when i bought it last summer. Side note: It only has
45,000 miles on the engine.

The vehicle was fine when i purchased it last summer and has only had this problem
since coming back from the first mechanic.

Ask about the idling of the car. It may be possible that it is idled way too high causing your problem.

Bring it back to the shop. There is no adjustment for the idle. It's electronic. Have them fix it.
