2004 Mustang ticking noise

Asked by Aug 13, 2017 at 04:15 PM about the 2004 Ford Mustang Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mustang makes a loud ticking noise specially
when you give it gas. I also have a oil leak. Could
that be the reason my oil pressure is low and
therefore making it tick? Ive heard different
suggestions like Cracked Manifold, oil sending line,
oil Switch, or oil pump. Are there any realiable
solutions? Please don't say lifters cause its a
reason why the lifters are ticking!!!!

If you have an oil leak and the pressure is low, check the level of the oil when the engine is cool, is it full? Low oil level will cause some ticking. Is the oil pressure light on or your just noticing low pressure? Do you have high mileage? Perform a cylinder pressure test......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8teB16U0LA
