turn signal switch

I have a 66 mustang that i have replaced the turn signal switch 3 times and
none would cancel. At my wits end.

Have u changed the small round blinker fuse? Looks like a small aluminum can..

Not sure if that's what it's called but it makes it activate the blinking sound..
