is it by design?? Need help!! I am baffled!!
Hello guys. I need your help with something, and this has happened to me twice now!! A while ago, I received a
1970-74 Ford/Mercury steering wheel. it has the wood trim horn cap without cruise. when I got it, I noticed that
the bottom of the steering wheel was less rounded than the top of the steering wheel. What I did was I tried
bending it in a vice and nothing happened after trying for so long (Other than the fact that I shredded the hard
plastic) (the wheel was in bad shape to begin with), so I threw it out. JUST TODAY, I bought the exact same
steering wheel from the junkyard, but this one is in immaculate condition, and fiddled around with it while it was
on the column, and I noticed that the steering wheel was bent in the same shape as my previous one (IDENTICAL
TO MY OLD ONE!!), and I am wondering if that was done on purpose by the factory back then? Was that Ford's
version of the uniquely shaped steering wheel like Chrysler had their square steering wheels back in the 1960's?
I could really use your help, and it will be greatly appreciated, and I mean put on a shrine and worshipped it's so
helpful.
Thank you for your time, and have a great Holiday
