Hey gang, I have picked up a 79 mustang base with 4cyl and a 4spd. It only has 24,000 miles and has one little rust dimple on the hood. Any guesses on the value? Ya I know it's in the eye of the beholder. Not sure if it will be worth more leaving it original and changing the wheels or putting a healthy 5.0 in it?

Worth around $5000 is my guess. If you want to have fun with it, yes, throw a 5.0L in it. The only '79 Mustang that will be worth any future value is the Indy Pace Car edition.
