Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 88 5.0 gt... it has 4 11 gears in it since i bought the car.... tonight on my way home from work when i shift gears they do not have as much power and have a little backfire when i shift thru them.. its like a raspy sound.... almost sounds like a tick... is this a transmission problem or could it be oil gaskets or where do i start to find the problem.

agree with above.... 4.11 refers to your ring and pinion anyways, has nothing to do with shifting gears
