could be warranty. The cvts have 10 year 200 000 km warranty here in canada but sounds like yours is over in mileage.

I did pass warranty, it was 120,000 miles. I have 130 or so. No warning lights, no stored codes.

My 2006 nissan altima 2.5 automatic transmission will sometimes not go into drive. It will go into reverse, but you have to manually shift it into 1 then 2, 3 and then drive to get car to move. 10 Answers

only way to get car to drive when this happens is to shift manually from 1 through to drive. After that car runs fine for rest of day. Sometimes it shifts into gear hard.
