Sound,s like you may have a bad fuel pump, running then gets, hot,

Well the car no longer starts....at all. It is acting the same I start the car and in 2 seconds it dies. IT HAS NEVER GOTTEN HOT. I killed the battery trying to start it so I will get the battery charged before I can do anything else.

Curious...Did ever end up finding out what was wrong? We have a 1996 RL 3.5 and it wouldn't start the other day in a parking lot (after having driven just fine prior), and the oil light came on. We checked and added oil, it started right up. We got an oil change that night. Drives fine for 2 days, and then doesn't start in a random parking lot AGAIN! Called AAA, they came and said my battery was completely dead (an Interstate battery that we bought in 2014, only 2.5 years ago!). Replaced battery. Drives fine for a day. Tonight, my husband drove home from work for lunch, and the darn car wouldn't start when he tried to go back to work! The car has never ever gotten hot, and has been pretty well/regularly maintained. Any ideas? Thanks!
