Most likely the bulb is burnt out, It can be tested with the Ford IDS-VCM scanner or you can just replace it.
Are you asking about the illumination of the fuel gauge itself or the low fuel light?
I wonder if the amp fuse is blown or if it's the bulb. can you help me with this question please
