What tires should I use?

Asked by Mannyminor Feb 14, 2020 at 04:05 PM about the 2007 Ford Expedition EL Limited 4WD

Question type: General

I own an 07 Ford Expedition EL. I live in Iron Mountain
Michigan, but travel to Chicago  4 times a year. Can I use
M/S tires instead of all season ones? Or what would be
best to install on my vehicle? My commute is 15 miles per
day in town, no muddy/rough driving areas. Thanks

I don't think there is any real difference between M/S and all season. Best is up to you. If there is a lot of snow and ice get all season tires with the severe duty snow rating (mountain/snowflake sidewall symbol).

Not all blocky, off road tires are all that good in snow. Those large blocks can be counter productive which is why I recommend the severe duty snow rating as these tires have actual test data to back them up, not just tread styling.
