It's quite a project. I've done a few and had to remove the passenger side axle and separate the ball joint from the knuckle.

I just put alternator on 2006 Ford escape I took stud out motor where it bolts at top of alternator and the alternator came out from top side still was a pain in my ass

According to the dealership that replaced my grandmother’s 2007 Ford Escape alternator, it takes 15 hours and costs $1700.

If u unbolt the alternator and then unbolt the upper engine mount then pull engine forward u can lift the alternator half way up the firewall and have a buddy get it takes 15 mins or less and install the same way
