GMC 2007 Classic 1500 Quit driving after a slip from 1 to 2.

Asked by GeorgeE1 Dec 22, 2013 at 09:11 PM about the 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE1 Ext. Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving and I felt a slip. I let off the gas to drift up the hill and when I pressed on the
gas, Nothing, just revved. I turned my on the engine, waited, started it back up and was
able to move again but it quit after about 10 yards up a slit grade. The truck stays in park
and rolls around in all gears after, what ever it is releases when I try to drive slowly. My
problem sounds the same as some, but I have no 4x4 maintenance light on. Any idea.

You need a new clutch (if manual trans) or transmission (if automatic). You didn't say how many miles so have either serviced and you will be back on the road.
