what damage occurs on a hylander hybrid when it idles too long?

Asked by carblonde Dec 26, 2014 at 04:38 PM about the 2008 Toyota Highlander Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I left my hylander hybrid idling for four days!! unbelievable I know , but it goes silent when
it's idling - real easy to miss - the icon on the LED points to the battery being charged and
the wheels moving while an arrow pointing. Should I get the codes checked? or just drive
and recharge  to them. Since nothing else shows up and it drives fine otherwise? 2008
hybrid hylander what could be damaged?

I would guess the battery would eventually run down, then the gas engine starts to recharge it, then shuts off, and the pattern repeats. Probably nothing is damaged.
