After giving someone a jump start, soon as cables were taken off my car started surging.

It only is surging while in park. What's wrong?

Now you know you never use your car as a jumper vehicle, that's what a jump box is for. Now you can try disconnecting a battery cable, trun on the headlight switch, wait at least 1 minute, turn off headlight switch, reconnect battery cable, start the engine and then drive for at least 20 minutes to reset the drive time protocols, after that time see if it will stop surging, if it does you saved your self some dealer expense, if it still does it then you will have to the dealership and find out if you messed up the base programming in the ECM during the jump.
