Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when I got on interstate and was getting up to speed at 55mph the active handling activated message came on,the car would not go any faster. I let off accelerator and the message went out, accelerated again and at 55mph message came back on. I got below 55mph and engaged cruse control ( cruse control would not engage while message was displayed ) by accelerating with the cruse control car went up to 70mph just fine. I took cruse off at 70mph and message came back on and lost speed until 55mph which at that time message went out again , flipped cruse control back on,  back up to 70mph I could go. When message is displayed I let off accelerator peddle and message would go out , if I tried to go over 55mph light came back on. This is a 2002z06 corvette.
