Not sure if I have the wires connect properly on my 1985 starter / solenoid

The battery large wire which is red also has a orange smaller wire attached to it
where does the orange wire hook to on the other end ???? does it hook to the
solenoid and if so where or what post on the solenoid does it hook too

Some GM vehicles had an auxiliary hot lead the ran directly to the alternator, if yours does not have that lead then just tape the orange wire to the cable to keep out of the way.
