How to remove gas from 84 fiero?

Asked by tbosamuel Apr 05, 2015 at 05:20 PM about the 1984 Pontiac Fiero SE or Indy

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How do I remove fuel from the tank of an
84 fiero se without dropping the tank? I've
heard about connecting a hose near the
fuel pump, and I've also heard siphoning,
but i can't get a hose deep enough in the
car to have it in liquid. The gas is 10 years
old with a little bit of new gas and it ALL
needs to come out. Thanks!

Pull the tank and have it flushed and inspected for rust, any fuel in there will be varnished and you won't get it out without removing the tank. When it comes to fuel don't cut corners to save a few bucks.

Is there any liquids I should put in or what special tools should I use?
